I am a harmonica player, guitarist, singer /song writer who has been playing harmonica since the early 1980's. During this time have taught many students from the age of 6 through to 65, which is how I developed the lesson material in this CD. I first started to play the harmonica seriously at the age of about 20. I'm now "a bit older" and have been teaching harmonica for over 20 years. One of the reasons that inspired me to write this CD was that in the early days I found some of the books that I used to learn were a bit hard to understand, some didn't have any audio samples or concentrated more on teaching music theory and old cover tunes rather than concentrating on techniques. I also found combining the reading of a book and co-coordinating it with the tapes and CD’s became a bit messy and frustrating at times, especially when you're trying to learn. Once you learn the basic's of playing you can play any tune you like and immerse yourself in theory. This is why my tuition CD concentrates on technique!

With today's technology, things can be different! That is why I have combined the text and audio in a unique, all in one, easy to follow interactive CD. You can even practice in front of your PC or Mac at lunch.

A harmonica in the key of C is used for the audio examples and recommended for this CD but not essential.

 You can still play the recorded examples on a standard CD player but you don't have to read from a little booklet and you have the option of making a backup for safe keeping. The CD uses you're internet browser to view the lesson material and you're media player will play the samples. For convenience hyperlinks (or shortcuts) have been placed at the top and bottom of all lessons to allow you quick access to any other lesson page, exercise and recorded example at the click of a button! No more flicking through pages or the CD player.

        Over the years I have refined my teaching methods to teach people of all ages how to play harmonica. I have, as much as possible, incorporated all of my experience and knowledge from playing and teaching into this CD. It is my belief that too many people go the hard way about learning an instrument. Whether it be harmonica, guitar or the kazoo you need a certain quality of equipment and instructional material to keep you motivated and on the right track. You could be the best harmonica player in the world, if your harp has a bad reed, you won't sound good! Similar with tuition, if you can't relate to, or understand the material, you can lose motivation and give up. So many of us complain about boredom from time to time.
